The Turkish lira is Türkiye’s currency. The CBRT describes a floating exchange-rate regime, under which supply and demand determine rates; this description does not imply that policy actions or market-management tools are absent.

Monetary-policy framework
Official exchange-rate guidance identifies monetary and fiscal policy, international developments and expectations as relevant influences. Analyse policy credibility and inflation expectations, rather than interpreting a high nominal interest rate as guaranteed compensation for currency risk.
What to monitor
Study inflation releases, policy communication and external-financing scenarios together. For example, a tightening surprise could improve expected returns but coexist with deteriorating growth or risk sentiment. Separate observed price response from your assumption about which mechanism should dominate in theory.
Currency relationships
TRY weakness relative to USD raises USD/TRY; weakness relative to EUR raises EUR/TRY. Those pairs can diverge when EUR/USD changes. A long history of depreciation is not a rule that every intraday candle rises, and it is not a substitute for measuring present market conditions.
Risks & practical checks
Financing charges and execution conditions can materially change a seemingly profitable idea. Confirm your broker’s product, trading hours and rollover rules. Model adverse spot moves and gaps, and avoid assuming that collecting carry or following a historical trend limits the maximum possible loss.
